KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

Hello All,

I noticed that some students are posting regularly and adding to the blog in a substantial way. Great work. There are others I haven't heard from so much. Where are you? We are in the library until Friday. You should have your project and presentation wrapped up by then. Don't forget top write the paper portion of the project, citing sources within and providing a works cited page. I have slots assigned for presentations on Monday, Tuesday (unless we drop), and Wednesday. I will give you your day and time slot this Thursday. Be ready to go!

  2. http://www.expressmilwaukee.com/article-6928-comics-transformed-into-comix.html. Hi Sammf, I was working with a student yesterday on underground comix and this website mentions some "giants" at the end of the article that participated in the underground movement. Another underground giant mentioned elsewhere was Spain Rodriguez.

  3. Samm, one more note, if you search
Boston Comic Con 2009, they have an entire list of guest artists with mini bios that might be helpful to you.

  4. Today I found a list of all the Awards Iron Man has won and made a list of similarities and differences for our powerpoint. Although they didn't win alot of awards they were nominated for a number of big name awards. Including Academy awards and the Grammy Awards

  5. I just started work on the timeline after working on the CCA. There's surprising little for timelines on the internet, so I'll have to compile the information from my research.

  6. Today I finished the power point, and tonight we're all putting it together over Lexi's. The Golden age was really the start of modern comics, with extended plot lines, and characters that spoke to the audience

  8. Tort...s joined us TODAY!!!! and we found other awards and searched deep into the depths of production by finding people such as CAMERA-MEN such as Bob Gorlick who won the BEST CAMERA OPERATOR award. Erik watched the special features and found absoultely nothing useful. THANK YOU SPECIAL FEATURES. We have noticed that there are some good looking people behind the graphic novels. There is a disclaimer to the DARK KNIGHT which will be explained in our power point. As of now, our only struggle is finding the history of production of the movie.

  9. So for the past few days i've been putting together the timeline on Comics and Graphics novels in the power point. I spent the end of last week editing the information and figuring out what was important and what wasn't. I've spent this whole week putting together the power point and working on my essay.

  13. Have you found timeliner yet? It's a good program and even though it costs for the full program, you can download a demo and still use it fine for the project.

  14. I restarted work on the timeline because I realised it had to be visual, so I'm kind of back to where I started.

  20. Today, I went on http://mangafox.com to see if there were any differences between the art in his manga and the art in his animes. The art in Shuna no Tabi was noticeably different, as the art was sketchier, everything was done by hand, and everything was done in watercolour so all the textures were different. He also seems to reuse the elk "Yakkul" in a lot of his series.

  21. I finally finished the timeline and I'm now in the process of systematically going through all the requirements for the project again and adding to the information I already have. I'm starting to turn my URL works cited into MLA format as well.

  22. Today I was looking for some comparisons between the iron man movie and comic. I came across this website: http://www.superherostuff.com/iron_man_movie.html
This website explained what happend in the comic book, and so from there I could tell many major differences bewtween the comic and the movie.
